Thank you *very* much for your very clear explanation of how this all
works.
I haven't digested everything yet, nor resolved the issue yet, but you
have given several clues that I need to follow-up.
One thing, also as a reply to chuck's mail: in the dmesh there is no
mentioning of any sdaX device.
