It does support this.  Owing to a misconfiguration on a new box I
ended up with all my mail going there for a day or two, and managed to
read it all in.  The secret is simply to take your time reading
through the list of alternative resource types.  I don't have access
to the resource definitions at this moment, but it's something
straight forward like KMail Mail Folder, or maybe Traditional Mail
Folder.  When you find the most basic looking resource definition,
just point it to /var/mail/userid.
