kate: execute scripts (python, perl, ...)?

Ahhhh. That was the missing piece. Thanks a bunch! :)

I see. Well actually as I do server-sided Java development for a living, I use 
NetBeans or Eclipse most of my days. Though at least the latter has quite good 
Python tooling, it generally feels a bit too heavy to always launch a "large" 
IDE just for hacking a few scripts, and feels even worse launching a Java/GTK+ 
app when trying to work with PyKDE4. ;)
