You might like to try renaming ~/.kde(4)/share/config/kaddressbookrc by adding
something like "old" to the name. Hopefully a new config file will not have
the problem, and you can easily revert to the current one if it doesn't help.
Don't forget to do it with kontact (or kaddressbook) closed.
