disabling Akonadi

I think you confuse nepomuk (the semantic desktop thing which also does
searching your documents) and akonadi, which is a personal information
storage thing.

You can disable nepomuk in systemsettings:

    Workspace Appearance and Behavior > Desktop Search > 
      [ ] Enable Nepomuk Semantic Desktop
