Why?  How is it supposed to know that you want the week view?  I don't.  I use 
Month view, and it opens in month view for me every day.  What more could I 
ask?  Maybe it is not remembering your preference?

If you truly believe it to be a bug, then investigate the version, and whether 
other people running the same version, on your distro and on other distros, 
are experiencing your problem.  If they are not, it's likely to be something 
on your setup.  If they are, you can probably tie down whether it is a KDE 
issue or a distro issue.

Bugs only get fixed if we help find the cause.
