Keyboard shortcut for the system tray

In KDE 4.3 RC2 I configured a keyboard shortcut for the system tray.
However, activating this shortcut does not let me access the system
tray icons. How does one active (simulate right-click) on System Tray
icons after pressing the keyboard shortcut configured for the system
tray?
