Yes, my r300 isn’t supported anymore.

What about NVidia? How long do they typically support a card in their drivers? 
(Good to know for deciding what card the next laptop should have.)

By the way, do they have GPUs that are “freely programmable” like NVidia cards 
are using CUDA?
