[4.2.0] Mouse back/forward buttons don't work

I have to report that they don't seem to be recognized.  I have the 
mouse plugged into the PS/2 (round DIN) socket if this matters.  So, I 
first have an X.org issue.

I have in xorg.conf:

     Driver	"mouse"
     Option      "Protocol" "Auto"
     Option 	"Device" "/dev/mouse"
     Option	"Buttons" "7"
     Option	"ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
     Option      "Name"  "Logitech LX3 Optical Mouse"

Any suggestions?
