I don't recognise this pattern of behaviour in KMail - it sounds more like
Thunderbird behaviour. When you set up the sending section of your accounts
in KMail you can choose whether to save the password. Is there any reason
why you are not saving it, remembering that kwallet saves it encrypted? If
you can't save it, for some security reason, then you will have to give the
password every time.
