Hi, Doc. As someone has already told you, we have a wiki at userbase.kde.org.
I've no problem with answering questions about this on or off-list. You'll
find that most things you are used to are possible, but many are done in a
different way, so don't be afraid to ask.
One think I'd point out from the start is that systemsettings, which takes the
place of kcontrol, looks sparse in comparison. That's because several groups
of controls have been moved to the applications that use them, rather than
kept in the generic control center. HTH
