KDE Space between icons

For my pity, KDE authors think, that nobody sets icons spacing in Windows 
manually and throw out even these "buttons", which were included in earlier 
releases. Changing DesktopGridSpacing, GridXSpacing, GridYSpacing does not 
work now - these settings simply dropped. 

I completely misunderstand, why KDE try to "make your own way" here. I do not 
need this "artifical intellect" to auto-arrange icons on MY desktop. Icons 
spacing MUST be configurable independently on X and on Y. 

This day I can configure it only "through back" - Configure Desktop -> 
Background Settings -> Advanced Settings

With altering "Lines for Icon text" and "Width for Icon text" you can alter 
width for icon cell.
