Kooka - Future Plans

You could try xsane as an alternative to kooka. The interface looks a
bit arcane but it's still a quite practical and fast scanning GUI for
Linux. I don't know if it supports PDF output but it's able to
automatically number multi-page scans like this:
myscan0001.png, myscan0002.png, myscan0003.png, ...
