Yes, What distro and version are you using?
The only line of output when I start audacity CLI in Slack-12.0 is:
"JACK tmpdir identified as [/tmp]"
Are you using audacity as supplied when you installed your distro or have you
downloaded the package from somewhere post install?
IMHO lines like this would indicate a problem involving ALSA and/or maybe
something else to do with your sound system and possibly what distro/kernel
version you are using:

However, this line caught my eye: "<< JACK compiled with System V SHM
support." and when I google "jack+shm+audacity" therer are lots of
interesting entries which I have not read but which may give you a clue.
Methinks that you should first consider you distro, version, kernel version
and where you jack and audacity package came from. If your lucky you might
find someone on the KDE list who had the same problem as you but you are more
likely to find an answer on a list relevant to you distro or from where you
got that package
