Hello, Everyone
I just did a full install of Fedora Core 6, and everything went very
well. I run KDE on our system compiled from SVN Branch 3.5, and I
completely removed our old installation of KDE and re-compiled from
scratch. Re-downloaded all the modules that I use from SVN.
I have only discovered on problem in all of this:
If I Right Click on the desktop, and choose the option "Configure
Desktop", the appropriate window comes up, and it even draws itself
completely. The problem is what happens next: The desktop goes black
for a second or two (The Kicker at the bottom of the screen and the
Kicker that I added on the right side of the screen are unaffected) and
immediately redraws itself. This happens exactly as described above as
often as I repeat the steps listed above.
If I go to the same configuration window through KControl, it works
perfectly. It is only when I attempt to "Configure Desktop" by right
clicking on the Desktop itself that this problem occurs.
I created a new user and made it so that when he logged into KDE, he
would log into the same KDE that I observed this issue with. (I always
keep the Fedora Core KDE around.) With this completely fresh user,
this problem still occurs.
If any of you are having this problem, please let me know. If this is
a problem for others, I will gladly file a bug report.
Have a Great Day,
Steven P. Ulrick
