kmail is not opening files in vim

[Kamaraju Kusumanchi]

I recently got an attachment in kmail and I did

right click -> Open with -> entered vim in the box.

but kmail did not open the file in vim. If I enter gvim, then an empty gvim 
window comes up but the file is not loaded.

Any idea as to what is happening and how to rectify the problem?

Using Debian Etch, KDE 3.5.5, vim 7.0.
