Yes abusing.

Perhaps you should read a bit of the Desktop Entry Specification, 
pertaining to desktop entry keys
http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ar01s04.html
to see what they're supposed to be used for.

Name=
was/is not intended for anything more than the (simple) name of the 
Application in question.

I stand by my original suggestion that you use the more appropriate
Comment=
or
GenericName=
fields to accomplish what you're after.
