Konq slow

This is a 3gig P4 and my line speed actually runs at 940 to 1030 mb/sec.
Tiscali seem to be quite good on that score. Wish some servers would actually
use my bandwidth.
The bulk of the ebay home page comes up very quickly. Only panel below the
search hangs. On konq it come up after hanging for 10 to 15 secs or so all in
one go and again very quickly. Ebay offers a suggestion on what sort of thing
can cause this - add blockers, but as far as I am aware konq doesn't have
that facility.
There is definitely some difference between linux and windoze otherwise why
would xp be ok.
The other odd thing is that 2 separate downloads on knoppix do exactly the
same thing so it can't just be suse 10 or corruption on my machine.
