Russian keyboard Control+ and Alternate+ key combination

I added a "pc" directory to /etc/X11/xkb/symbols and this activated the
"include
latin layout" option in KDE. But, I had to remove a file named "pc" from
the symbols
directory in order to create the directory "pc" and this may have
created problems.
And, of course nothing else good happened without the proper files or
links for
the new directory.

I tried your suggestion to create a symbolic link and played with this,
but with
no success -- I think that I do not know enough about what is going on
with the
underlying system to work this out.

I have returned to the original setup with the modified xfree86 file. Unless
you have any other suggestions, it looks like this will work fine until
there
is a new KDE version that I feel I need to install. Then I may need to deal
with this issue again, or maybe it will have been solved by the programmers.
