IM Client

IM client... its a fun subject....
the only success I had with video conferencing is with Kopete over MSN. but
its video only, no sound. if you want sound, you need to run it through
Kopete over Google talk. thats it, double network, double contacts. you can
also use Skype (audio only). as far as GAIM, I think you can only do
audio/video over the old netmeeting protocol. I dont know any body using it.

there is wengo/ekiga/gizmo/etc you can try. which does Voip,.... I had
various experience about video I rather not comment. you may want to give it
a try.

run a series of tests. if you can find the perfect solution, feel free to
share it here. I:d be interesting to here about it.

hopefully this whole video conferencing world will all be better with KDE4,
Phonon Dbus and HAL.
well I do hope so,... but that... is another 6 months away, at least.
