KMenuEdit problem

Hi !

I've just re-installed Fedora Core 5 with KDE 3.5 and KMenuEdit doesn't work 
anymore as a user : a lot of icons don't appear in the K menu and, when I add 
a link, it's not displayed in the K menu. I thought it was a permissions 
problem, but I don't see the K menu items in my .kde folder. 

Does anyone know how to fix this ?
