DVD and DVD r/w drives reported as not existing

A bit vague.
Is the icon a "mounted one", like do you have disc in the drive. 

Also do: 
you at yourbox# mount | the_kde_mailing_list
so we can get a little more insight as to what's going on in Detroit City.
