Kopete 0.10 [KDE 3.4] contiuously crashing

I'm having serious problems with kopete 0.10 (the one which comes with KDE 
3.4).... The thing is that kopete "crashes" very often...

One definite crash for me is if i try to access
Configure Kopete \ Appearance
in which case the cursor turns to the "working" one fow a few moments 
(probably 1-2 sec) and then kopete crashes (exits?), without KDE telling me 
that an application has crashed. The same thing happens exactly sometimes 
when i try to close a chat window (about 40% of the chat window closes result 
in "crash"). 

I'm going insane. Any ideas?
