KDE hangs on login

Yes, that is what happens.

It always fails at the interprocess communication part. If I switch to a 
console during login and back to kde, then it freezes at a differnt point, 
and if I wait until kde has fully loaded before switching back, everything

Yes, all other windowmanagers work.
