how to set word delimiter characters

Is it possible to customize the word delimiter character set for all KDE
apps globally?  These are the characters that indicate word boundaries 
when you select some text by double clicking on it.

I know it is possible to set this the for konsole (preferences->double
click), but I would really like all (KDE) apps to behave the same.
