desktop pager - slow response

Hello,

The desktop pager appears to periodically stall or freeze. However, I can 
still switch desktops via the shortcut I set up to switch to the next 
desktop. When I do this though, the pager is frozen on another desktop. It 
takes about 3 seconds for it to start responding again. Bug? 
Misconfiguration somehow?
