Cannot save an 'event' in kontact

I am just now trying to start using kontact (v1.1 under suse 9.3).  I created 
an event but when I go to save it, I get an error box 'sorry cannot save 
(event name).  I got a selection box with two identical 'default resource' 
enties.  I cannot find anything in help about creating my own 'resource' 
file.  Clicking on File -> Save gives no error and has no effect.

Do I need to create a resource file, other than the default?  How do I save 
entries?
