Opening remote files fails with some apps

Hi,

selecting a remote directory with konqui by ftp I try to open a .csv file by 
right clicking and choosing kspread. A popup appears grumbling "kdeinit kann 
"kioexec" nicht starten" (kdeinit can't launch kioexec). An attempt using OOO 
leads to "Ein-/Ausgabefehler" (I/O-Error). But kwrite gracefully opens the 
file.

Any suggestions?
