I am already using external app for resizing, display -resize 1024x768 works perfect, but i was wondering if i can get resizing with embedded image viewer.

Gwenview does not have to be run as a separate viewer app. When
konqueror is pointing at a directory with image files in it, simply do
View > View Mode > Gwenview and gwenview takes over the konqueror window
: is this what you wanted?
