Just need Information about dcop

I have no particular problem. I just wanted to know.
I just started reading about it, and I presume, that using dcop I can send 
request to an application, but where can I find what kind of commands 
application is able to serve?

Is it in the documentation of an application?
Or do I have to figure it out by reading source?
