To .tar.gz or to .tar.bz2 in KDE ? -> huge difference in speed

The bzip2 algorithm is several times slower than gzip but offers 
slightly better compression. That's just the way the universe is 
constructed. Try it on the command-line and you'll see it doesn't 
really have much to do with KDE.
