I can confirm that it stopped there. It doesn't print the lines you mentioned
about deleting config.cache.
As soon as I do a make the following lines are displayed

I have built many versions of kde in the past starting with 1. something. This
is the first one where the build seems to have failed completely but it would
not surprise me if it were something on my PC such as a wrong version of
something.
