.xinitrc, .Xresources, dpi setting

I don't think so.  KDM does not use the: "~/.xsession" script.  It is only 
used if the: "Xsession" script sources it and it doesn't normally do that.

You should edit your "$KDEDIR/share/config/kde/Xservers" file.
