To disable desktop previews : right-click desktop->configure 
desktop->behavior->show tooltips.

Open help center and go to the kioslaves sections. Most (like man:/) are 
listed, some are even documented ;-)
To see what the program:/ ioslave does : type program:/ into konqueror 
(address field) and you will see...
