Hi list,
I have compiled KDE 3.1.5 from the sources using QT-3.2.3 on a SuSE 7.3 with
kernel 2.6.0 and XFree 4.2.0. It runs very well for just two days. Then I
had a crash. I have stopped the session with ctrl-alt-backspace. Since that
time I cannot start KDE 3.1.5.
When starting kdm in runlevel 5 /var/log/messages shows:
Jan 26 21:34:14 server kdm[11753]: Greeter exited unexpectedly
Jan 26 21:34:14 server kdm[11753]: Abnormal helper termination, code 0, signal

If I start KDE with the "startx" command .X.err shows:

If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is
newer than the above date, look for a newer version before
reporting problems. (See http://www.XFree86.Org/)

The old version KDE 3.0 is still working very well. I have no idea whats going
wrong. Has anyone any hints?
