The tool tips use the "General" font. You can change it in the Fonts KCM widget.

It it is "ugly" they you probably have another problem since the default: Helvetica
shouldn't be ugly.

Do you have this (General font) set to Helvetica?

Did you install some scalable fonts?

If not, I suggest that you start with:

	http://www.gimp.org/urw-fonts.tar.gz
	http://corefonts.sourceforge.net

Or for real Helvetica:

	ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobatreader/win/3.x/ar302.exe

Note: use WINE to unpack.

	ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/type/win/all/afmfiles/900-960/950/

Note: get the AFM files there.

Otherwise, try the scalable fonts that come with XFree86 or the GhostScript fonts.
