how to make KDE faster?

I have to agree, I use a PIII 450 with 128 MB and KDE is compared to W2K
really snappy and extremely stable. Same experience with my Laptop, a
PIII 600 with 192 MB and Gnome. Compared to 98SE performance increased
notably even though I used the standard FC1 binaries.
