[SLE] Building KDE3.1.1 from srpm

Does anyone here have experience with building KDE3.1.1 frpom srpm ?

Even better, can anyone tell me how to make (7.3) rpms out of the srpms on
the suse / kde download sites ?

Is it really as trivial as 
rpm -Uvh *srpm
cd /usr/src/packages/......
rpm -ba XXX.spec 
or are there hidden snags ?
