Not displaying GIFs

I asked this a few days ago, but wanted to try again now that more people 
(hopefully) have upgraded to KDE 3.1

After installing 3.1, Konqueror will not display gifs.  I thought it might be 
QT and recompiled it but that did not seem to help.

Has anyone else run into this and solved it?
