How to change the properties of the "icons" in the panel?

Thanks! That works.

More than a bit obscure --

The file, btw, for me, is called quicklauncher_apunwfabszojy5o361m_rc
rather than lanucher*, and the file it points to is
/usr/local/share/applnk/Internet/KMail.desktop
which means that I had to have root edit it for me (well, that is, I had
to switch over to root to edit it), which all seems a little "user
hostile" to me, but it *did* work.

Thank you.

I'll try to poke around the "wish list" and see if a request for a more
user-friendly means to accomplish this is already present and, if not,
enter one myself.

| You edit the desktop file associated with the mini-icon you want to
| change.
|
| In $HOME/.kde/share/config you will find a file called
| launcher_panelapplet_<some obscure number>_rc
| That file lists the desktop files that are used to start the
| applications in your mini-icon list.
| See what desktop file starts your kmail, and edit that file to your
| preferences.
|
| Best regards :o)
