How to change the properties of the "icons" in the panel?

Good day,

that will not do Brian any good with his mini-icon.

When changing the kmail command in the K menu, KDE makes a
user-specific desktop file in the applnk dir in the user's .kde dir.
This file is used to launch kmail when Brian selects kmail from the K
menu.
However the mini-icon maintains its own list of desktop files, and
that list will still point to the system-wide desktop file that
launches kmail without the --check parameter.

I hope this makes sense.

At least this is how things work on my system.

Best regards :o)
