Restarting KDE components

Although Linux and KDE tend to be very stable, every now and then one
component of KDE, for instance Kicker, will crash.  Running KDE without a
taskbar is somewhat difficult, so I would like to know: is there a way to
reload the kicker, or another KDE component that might fail, without
exiting and restarting KDE.
