DCOP problems

Howdy,

I'm having no luck starting KDE 3.1 as anything but root. It crashes, 
complaining that it can't locate the DCOP server.

As root, it runs perfectly. Is this some type of obscure permissions problem?

I've tried with both existing and new accounts, cleared out the /tmp/X11*, 
/tmp/ICE*, and /tmp/mcop* files, and I've searched the list archives.

Please help :(
