Thank you for the tip. I am now downloading Debian 3.0r1. According to 
distrowatch.org it has GNOME as default Windows Manager, but I have 
never seen any complains about running KDE on Debian. And KDE.org have 
official (?) binarypackages ready to download for Debian aswell.
 From what I can read Debian got support for AA-fonts in X and KDE too.

Oh well. Maybe time to terminate this thread before it morphs into a 
distro-war or something ;)
