Problem starting programs

I recently installed SuSE 8.2 (KDE version 3.1.1).

Sometimes, after I have used my box for some time,
I click on kicker buttons, but the programms do not
start, especially konqueror. If I try to start it
using Alt+F2, it pops up immediately.
The problem seems to disappear suddenly.
If I restart KDE, all seems to be fine.

I cannot remember this problem in Mandrake 9.1 or 
Slackware 9.0.
Does anybody know what is wrong?

[P4 2.4GHz with 512Mb RAM, Linux 2.4.20 (all compiled by SuSE)]
