network configuration missing from pannel?

I have read that the network configuration is suppose to be under  => 
System => Network Configuration  however it is not listed in the panel. 
 I am not sure if I have missed a package when I setup my box or if 
something was corrupt.  

As for the KDE these are the packages that I installed:

                kdelibs
                kdebase
                kdeaddons
                kdenetwork
                qt {as a dependency}

I realize that there are many dependencies that where probably installed 
as well but not listed in this email.  


Any help or Ideas are welcome!
