Transparent Desktop

Hi,

run into problems with displaying root-tail files
under KDE 3.1.3.
I searched thru the mailing lists and found no
suitable solution for me - e.q. i do not want to kill
my desktop.

So theres a possible solution coming up: 
Is it possible to make the background of kdesktop
transparent?

Appreciate any help
