periodic hardrive access

Hello,

when KDE 3.1.2 is running on my notebook, something accesses the harddrive 
quite often, so I can not suspend the hardrive (hdparm -y /dev/hda) for more 
than 15 seconds.
I closed all allication and finished all kde services, but that doesn't help. 

Anyone can help please? How to isolate the problem?

Without or with another desktopmanager fluxbox I don't have that trouble.
