Yes you have. You need to take out or comment out the Load "v4l" line in
your XF86Config-4 file (you've got the glx module loaded) and of course
change the nv driver to nvidia. I have attached my working config file
as reference for you.
In my experience the Nvidia drivers are rock solid (I installed them
without leaving X) and you shouldn't have any hardware problems except
if they are specified in the readme, so I wouldn't do anything drastic
with AGP settings et al. Just get your config file working.

Make sure you install the kernel rpm/tar first and then the GLX package
(I'm not sure how the latest version of the drivers does things but the
principle should be the same).
If you do that and get your XF86Config-4 file looking like this then you
should be good to go. You can then monkey around with the cursor shading
options and other such stuff :).
