gl screensaver problems

hi

I seem to be having problems with the gl screensavers. I have just upgraded to 
a radeon 7500 card and I am using the driver that comes with xfree86 4.3. 
They run REALLY REALLY slowly, glxgears works just fine tho. Does anyone know 
what the problem is and how to fix it?
